Just sharing my experience of fixing up a salvage project car. In no way meant as a tutorial but if it helps anyone thinking about tackling similar jobs that's a bonus. Overall I've found the little Yaris fairly easy to work on and find reasonably priced parts for. Connect on Instagram - restofixcustoms

Big thanks to my mate Dan Johnson on the keys for the tunes this time with a little help from his mate Roger on guitar in one of the ...

Spoon and a Brew - part 2 - the finishing cuts

Time to finish off the willow crook spoon from part one. All knife work this time, apologies of the background noise, this one was shot at the weekend when the nearby microlight airfield is at it's busiest so quite a few planes flying close by but hopefully not too much of a distraction. Making a drawknife part 1 forging the blade and ferrules
Переглядів 4,5 тис.8 років тому
In June 2015 I spent some time in the forge with renowned blade smith Nic Westermann and a group of woodworking friends to learn how to make a drawknife. We all had a great time and learned lots in the process. We also all came away with quality tools that we had made ourselves with Nic's excellent guidance. Between sessions in the forge we also had a great day out fishing at a nearby beach, ch...

Nice
Love the rotating jig for avoiding the ever tempting, never satisfying, freehand leg hole drilling.
Top work mate, really decent video.
Lesson learnt - thank You :)
Quality job, love the angle jig.
High Lee, nice bit of work mate, angle block for drilling? Great idea. Lovely rustic shave horse too. Something that really caught my eye 👁 ?? Is, your Logo, absolutely awesome mate 👏 All the best 👍 Cheers Les.
Love that shave horse!
It's not a very big boat...
👍😃
Great job man 🎉
Welcome back Lee, we've missed ya!
Gotta try that. The triangle jig looks very useful.
Damn, that triangle jiggy thing is a damn good idea. I was balancing bevel gauges and everything doing the lathe, looks like Escher fecking made it 😅
Nice
Absolutely beautiful!💜💫
At 3.23 in the video Don mentions linseed oil as a conjugated oil. But isn't this a NON-conjugated oil?
man that peels like a potato
Great video as always. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills.
Beautiful ❤️
Nice work will you be going to spoon town
Nice!
Awesome work
😊real nice. Thanks for the information 😊
Stopped in again😊
Fantastic! Love the ingenuity and craftsmanship. Will try my hand at this
Thanks Lee. Great video, can you do one on your stropping/buffing wheels, what compounds you use.
Beautiful, love the tunes as well.
That was a great video. Thanks for the instruction! :)
Fantastic instructions. Thank you so much for sharing that. 👍🔥
maybe next time you can make a spoons carving video from start to finish..
bush craft
Great finish. Thanks again and take care.
Nice, thanks for showing us. Take care.
Very nice carvings. Thanks for the helpful video.
Wow !
Genius
You need to get yourself a carbon steel self-seasoned pan for the fire pit. You'll thank me afterwards. :)
Amazing man
thanks mate, really like ur content. I also have 2 pfeil hook knifes, the 23 and 27 for right hand. But when I bought them the cutting edge wasn't that good and I had to grind them for a whole afternoon just to temove the bevels. What a bummer
Two at once . . . why have’nt I thought of that?
2:36, So what machine is this please ?
Amazing Work.Wawww Greetings from Hungary
Thanks for the nice and informative video
What axe / hatchet are you using?
Hi Lee, I don’t suppose you have a particular brand of raw linseed oil you recommend for eating spoons? In the clip he mentions Swedish cold pressed raw linseed oil
Thank you Lee. I am new to spoon carving (@ 3 months) watching lots of videos. Especially enjoy Zed outdoor series on spoon carving. In fact had seen your episode. I really have appreciated all of Zeds efforts and episodes dealing with spoon carving. One difficulty I continue to have involves transitioning between bowl and handle. Your treatment of the process between 16:00 - @21:00 , I will put in my notebook to refer back to in future when I find the right crook to work with. I think even a straight piece will benefit from the process you use in getting the stock shaped up past the axe work. Thank you again and good job on your camera setup and editing to get a nice video out. Marjorie from Georgia US
Get ride of the music!
Learned a lot about how to eat bacon and drink tea in those first 9 mins. Very useful. Hahaha
Yep, when I watched it back a while after posting it I cringed and thought the I should have edited at least 8.5 minutes out of that bit! 🤣
Ouch! I cut myself just from watching😅
Maybe 5years ago, but very informative, and also a joy watch. With the right tools for the job it's amazing just what can be created. Nice one Lee great job that you have every Wright to be proud of.
I’ve seen Jane Mickelborough’s wax infilled chip carving decorations. Are there other materials to fill with? Are there light colors to use with dark woods?
I've never tried infilling, only the odd splash of acrylic paint so you'd probably be better off asking Jane directly.
